LHTSOFT Photo Tutorials — Three Real Editing Workflows

Step-by-step tutorials for photo retouching, transparent graphics and editable text or shape compositions in LHTSOFT Photo.

Follow these examples in your own browser. Each workflow explains which layers to use, what to save and how to avoid losing the editable version.

Tutorial 1: Retouch a portrait without destroying the original

  1. Open your photograph and duplicate the raster layer first. Rename the duplicate to explain the purpose of the retouch.
  2. Select Healing Brush or Clone Stamp. Alt-click an appropriate undamaged source area when the tool requests a source; make small, local corrections.
  3. Zoom in to check edges, then Fit to inspect the entire image. Use Undo if repeated strokes produce obvious patterns.
  4. If you need brightness or color adjustment, add a separate adjustment layer rather than repeatedly changing the source raster layer.
  5. Save a .lhtp project so the retouched layer and the original can be compared later; export a separate JPEG or WebP for sharing.

Tutorial 2: Create an image with a transparent background

If the background includes hair, shadows or semi-transparent edges, a single color selection may miss detail. Work in stages and zoom in to inspect the mask; a clean transparent result usually requires manual refinement.

  1. Start with New document for a transparent canvas, or open an image and isolate the object with a suitable selection tool.
  2. Use the selection refinement tools to tighten or soften the selected edge. A raster mask is preferable when you may need to restore removed detail.
  3. Hide any solid background layer and inspect the transparent checkerboard around your object.
  4. Export as PNG or WebP. Do not use JPEG when you need an alpha channel, because JPEG has no transparency.

Tutorial 3: Combine a headline, photo and geometric shapes

  1. Open a photo or make a new canvas at your intended output dimensions.
  2. Add a rectangle or ellipse shape layer for a label or callout. Edit the fill, outline and placement while it remains a shape layer.
  3. Add an editable text layer with a readable font size and sufficient contrast against the background.
  4. Reorder layers so the headline remains visible above the picture and shape. Adjust opacity where appropriate.
  5. Save a .lhtp project before exporting a flattened PNG, JPEG or WebP. The exported image is not intended for later font or vector edits.

Working from a PSD file

Start by saving a duplicate of your source PSD outside the editor. LHTSOFT Photo supports portions of layered PSD content, but Photoshop text, smart objects and some effects may be flattened or lost on round trips.

After importing, inspect the Layers panel, check group ordering and raster masks, and compare the visual result with the source. Use .lhtp to retain editable LHTSOFT layers as you continue.

Keyboard, touch and project safety

Common shortcuts include V for Move, B for Brush, E for Eraser and Ctrl/Cmd+Z for Undo. Browser-reserved keyboard shortcuts may take priority; the app's shortcut reference explains the supported combinations.

On phones, tool lists and other editing panels scroll independently. Keep important work in downloaded projects rather than relying on a phone browser to retain large temporary files.
