What LHTSOFT Photo can do — tools, formats and limitations
A practical feature map of LHTSOFT Photo: local image editing, layer stacks, adjustments, PSD imports, project files and browser constraints.
LHTSOFT Photo is a browser editor for people who want to finish an image without creating an account or uploading it to an editing server. It provides raster painting, editable layers, selections, shapes, text, adjustments and local export. The features below explain both the useful workflows and the boundaries of this beta.
Layer-based editing instead of one flat image
Create raster, text and vector-like shape layers, reorder them, toggle their visibility and adjust opacity or blending. Keeping captions and decorative shapes separate makes later changes easier than repeatedly painting over one background.
For a social media cover, place the original photograph at the bottom, a translucent colored rectangle above it, and a text layer at the top. Export a flat PNG or JPEG only when the arrangement is final.
Painting, selections and repair tools
Use Brush and Eraser for direct pixel changes. Rectangle, ellipse, lasso, magic-wand and quick-selection tools isolate areas to be moved, cleared or masked. Clone and healing tools can correct small defects, but results depend on image detail and brush settings.
A selection is a boundary, not a new image layer. If a change should remain reversible, duplicate the target layer or use a raster mask. Hard-edged cutouts may need feathering, and fine hair or transparent glass usually needs manual cleanup.
Color and geometry
Adjustment layers provide editable brightness, contrast, saturation, hue/lightness, levels and curves controls. Quick adjustments directly change raster pixels, so use an adjustment layer when you expect to revise the look later.
Transform tools can move, resize and rotate content; shape layers and editable text suit banners, thumbnails and simple layouts. Complex illustration and prepress print features are outside the primary scope of this browser beta.
File formats and privacy
Open common PNG, JPEG and WebP images, supported PSD projects and native .lhtp files. Export PNG, JPG, WebP or limited PSD with compatibility warnings. PSD import and export cannot guarantee that all Photoshop smart objects, live effects and original metadata are preserved.
Image processing takes place on your device. If configured and explicitly selected, Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive receives your export directly from the browser; those providers have their own account rules. Browser storage can be cleared, so download important files.
